Thermoforming packaging

In the packaging industry, deep-drawing means the manufacturing of hollow pieces with smooth surfaces as e.g. bowls, cans, caps etc. It can distinguish between cold and warm moulding. For rigid / stiff packaging, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), polyethylene of high density (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) are used. For thin, not dimensionally stabile packaging (mainly vacuum packaging), film compound of polyamide/polyethylene or polyester/polyethylene are normally used.
